Softwash Roof Cleaning
Do you walk on my roof?
Walking on the roof is the exception. The majority of jobs are completed from the ground or from a ladder.
Can a roof cleaning reduce my energy cost?
Yes, a clean roof will improve energy efficiency. Roofs covered in black and green algae absorb uv sun rays just as dark clothing. Algae, lichen and mold also hold moisture and prevent uv ray light reflection which not only decreases shingle life but increases heat absorbing into attic space.
Do you use a pressure / power washer?
We use a softwash rig to clean your roof and other surfaces. We use a pressure washer to clean driveways and other hard surfaces. We ensure the degree of pressure is appropriate for the surface being cleaned.
When cleaning your roof, we use a cleaning solution that is so effective that it lasts 4 – 6 times longer than pressure washing, making it more sustainable for the environment and your wallet.
Will your solution hurt my plants?
Our trained staff will protect your plants and vegetation. We cover your plants when cleaning the roof or the exterior of your home. We use a large tarp or plastic sheeting to protect plants during exterior projects. In addition, we spray and rinse them for a sufficient amount of time to insure their safety.
Is there anything I should do to prepare my roof cleaning?
Yes, remove patio furniture and other items that are in the path of area(s) we will be spraying/cleaning.
Will you use my water?
Yes. We use your water to rinse. Our trucks hold 50 gallons of water and cleaning solution. We connect to your water hose pipe for rinsing as well as when we pressure wash.
Do I have to be home for the estimate or the job?
No, we can assess the home without you being present.
What happens if it is raining the day the work is scheduled?
We will reschedule.
How long does the cleaning process take?
It varies, but the average time is 4 -6 hours.
Why should I clean my roof?
Maintaining your roof protects the investment of the roof – prolonging its life and mitigating the need for a replacement. Roof replacement can be extremely expensive. It is also disruptive to your family and the neighborhood. A roof that needs to be replaced can put the occupants and their belongings at risk. For a single-family dwelling, expect to pay at least $20,000 for a roof replacement, and oftentimes a multiple of this number. Keeping your roof clean is not primarily an aesthetic endeavor. Roofs need to be cleaned regularly to minimize and control the infestation of pesticides. Three of the primary culprits are algae, lichen, and moss. These organisms can live on your roof and literally eat away at the roofing substances.
