Project Superintendent    
FLSA Status:  Exempt – Full-Time 
Reports To:   Project Manager
Direct Reports:   N/A

Job Summary:
This is a disaster response project specifically providing Maintenance and Deactivation services of Temporary Housing for residents of Louisiana that were affected by hurricane Laura.  Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Superintendent will provide daily field oversight of the disaster response work that is in progress.  The quality control component of the job will focus on the work being performed per the SOW (statement of work). The safety aspect of the job will focus on the safe practice manner in which the work being performed. Both quality and safety functions will be utilized in the maintenance business unit, the deactivation business unit and the call center.  The field superintendent will manage the QC/Safety Managers and function as the Project Manager when he is not onsite.  Location of Work:  This project will occur in the western Parish areas of the state of Louisiana. The Superintendent position will require being available onsite to perform this role.


Essential Functional/Major Duties:  ​

  • Performs site audits for deactivations to ensure work is being performed per the statement of work

  • Effectively communicates and documents findings for all site visits for the person(s) performing work onsite and for Cypress record-keeping and tracking.

  • Serves as an example of the commitment to a safe work environment by wearing the required PPE (personal protective equipment) while performing an inspections.

  • Stays informed of any safety trends, issues occurring in the field to share “best practices” to all teams working.

  • Maintains a thorough understanding of the scope of work being performed in all areas of the project.

  • Acts as a liaison between the company and the subcontractors and employees of the company when in the field. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Functional with Microsoft Office Suite products, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook mail.

 

Education and Experience

  • It would be preferred that the individual applying would hold a current certificate of completion from the US Army Corps of Engineers QC certificate program.   Also a current certificate of completion of an OSHA 10-hour Safety Program.

  • At least 3-5 years of working in the disaster response or construction industry is preferred.


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods walking, inspecting sites of work activity 

  • Working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.

  • Ability to climb ladders and look at roofs when required

Clerical experience must have ability to work independently in a construction environment, meet deadlines, computer background, proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Excel and Word, excellent communication skills, high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience.


Job Description:
